The End of the Line

Synopsis

In Valleyheart City, magic and monsters are myths. Only select few, the Chosen Hearts, know the truth as creatures lurk in the darkness, and spells and weapons brim at their fingertips. The otherwise idyllic city lingers upon a fault line between the Realm of Light and the Realm of Darkness, and the recent influx of missing persons cases and haunted sightings only further illustrates the impending threat:

The rift between the two realms is growing wider.

While the Realm of Light has its share of mortal perils, it's a far cry from the Dark Realm, where danger lurks around every corner. The Dark Realm is but a shattered mirror of a reality that has been left to decay for thousands of years.

The Chosen Hearts are the only ones with the power to seal the rift, even if it means travelling back and forth between the real world and the Realm of Darkness. They must keep the two realms from merging, lest all reality as they know it is gone.

Setting

Welcome to Valleyheart, a city nestled between two mountain ranges to the east and west, and a seacoast to the south. The temperature is mild to moderate, with little snow but lots of rainfall from over the mountain ranges. It's a tourist paradise, complete with plenty of nature and hiking trails, and long walks along the beach.

The city has a robust public transit system and encourages civilian use of it with affordable monthly passes and plenty of bicycle lanes.

Favorite spots in the city include a scene park and plenty of cafes dotting the strip malls.

Valleyheart also boasts a widely acclaimed higher education institution, Liminal University. It hosts a variety of programs, all of which are supported by various scholarships and partnerships with businesses in the Valleyheart community and beyond.

Available Characters

Your character can be any age above 18 and at any point in their lives. They could be in college, they could be a high school dropout, they could be a middle-aged parent with 8 children. So long as they're not an unreasonable age (like, 500 or something) then you're good.
